Niles Barton’s fidelity and surety practice group has extensive and broad experience assisting and representing fidelity insurers and sureties in contract surety, fidelity and commercial surety bond matters. Our attorneys are actively involved in the American Bar Association’s Fidelity and Surety Law Committee, the Fidelity Law Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Mid-Atlantic Surety Association.

Our fidelity practice focuses on assisting fidelity insurers and sureties in matters arising from claims upon commercial crime policies, financial institution bonds, and other fidelity instruments. Niles Barton’s surety practice has extensive experience representing sureties and commercial construction enterprises both in providing legal opinions concerning coverage and in representing their interests in litigation, including proceedings in state and federal trial and appellate courts, administrative agencies, arbitration panels and in mediation. Our surety attorneys handle performance and payment bond claims, negotiation, litigation and protection and pursuit of indemnity rights. In addition to contract surety matters, we advise our surety clients with respect to numerous commercial surety bond matters, including fiduciary bonds, public official bonds, license and permit bonds and other statutory and miscellaneous bond matters.
