Community involvement will always be a tradition of the past and future for Niles Barton. As a firm, we try to support programs that improve the future for people in need and the communities in which we live. We are also fortunate to have a team of professionals who believe in giving back to the community by serving on the Boards of nonprofits and getting involved in acts of charity.

The following are a few examples of the programs that Niles Barton actively supports:

CollegeBound. Our firm and our attorneys donate time and money to encourage the students of Baltimore City schools to think about their future and prepare for college. We have volunteered as judges for essay contests during College Awareness Month and have participated in the annual fundraising drive for CollegeBound Foundation.

Community Law in Action (CLIA). Our firm actively participates in CLIA’s Mentoring to Empower program. We establish mentoring relationships with Baltimore City high school students to help them develop professional skills, prepare for college or career school, and benefit from academic support.

LawLinks. Niles Barton provides summer internships to students enrolled in Baltimore City high schools. These internships are designed to encourage students with diverse backgrounds to consider law as a career.

Pro Bono Legal Services. Many of our attorneys provide pro bono legal services for nonprofits and low-income individuals through the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) so people in need have access to legal assistance in civil cases.
