Niles, Barton & Wilmer, LLP Mentioned on JD Supra for Representation of Lloyd’s of London
Niles, Barton & Wilmer, LLP was recently mentioned in a JD Supra article titled, “District of Maryland Dismisses Lender Fraud Suit Seeking Over $1 Trillion in Damages,” regarding the firm's representation of Lloyd’s of London in a complex federal litigation matter.
On April 30, 2026, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland dismissed with prejudice claims against multiple Wells Fargo entities and Lloyd’s of London in Alliance Global Capital Fund, LP v. Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., No. 24-cv-1130-ABA.
The plaintiffs asserted 19 causes of action arising from alleged misconduct involving financing transactions, funds transfers, and other financial matters. The Court concluded that nearly all of the claims were time-barred and that the plaintiffs failed to state a claim under their various theories of liability. The Court also granted Defendants’ motion for Rule 11 sanctions.
Michele H. Dinterman of Niles, Barton & Wilmer, LLP represented Lloyd’s of London in the matter.
