Data Privacy Attorney Spencer Pollock Speaking at the MAAFP Half-Day Educational Event: Expert Insights into Reducing your Cybersecurity Exposure and PCI Risk

The Mid-Atlantic Association for Financial Professionals (MAAFP) is hosting a half-day, two-part education seminar on “Expert Insights into Reducing Your Cybersecurity Exposure and PCI Risk” on Thursday, November 14, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Johns Hopkins Keswick Auditorium in Baltimore, MD. The conference will focus on PCI compliance and cybersecurity. Payment card industry (PCI) compliance refers to the technical and operational standards that businesses must follow to ensure that credit card data provided by cardholders is protected.

Spencer P. Pollock, Esq., CIPP-US, a data security and privacy law attorney with Niles, Barton & Wilmer, LLP, will be presenting on the topic of “Prevention and Mitigation: Data Security in the Financial Sector,” along with a leading consulting firm in the cyber security field. The first session of the program will discuss the implications of legal non-compliance, including the data privacy policies, practices and procedures the financial industry should be developing in order to mitigate its risk and exposure to cyber theft or exposure of customer data.
